Capriccio, a family established restaurant that began in 1975 is home to arguably the best food and pizza in Myrtle Beach. Michael Macchia, founder and owner of Capriccio currently owns two restaurants in Croton, New York which is in Westchester County on the Hudson River. Michael along with a few friends of the family have put a Capriccio here in the heart of Myrtle Beach. Michael, who has been in the restaurant business now for about thirty-five years, states that he has been vacationing in Myrtle Beach for a few years. He noticed that there was not any great Italian restaurants in Myrtle Beach. Michael wanted to bring the sense of great Italian food to the local community here in Myrtle Beach, and he also wanted to create that sense of being at home and getting great food right around the corner to those from out of town. Located on 38th Avenue North in the Bi-Lo shopping center, he has done just that. Currently Michael has his son Michael Macchia, Jr. running the restaurant here in Myrtle Beach. Michael Junior, or just junior to those that visit frequently, has been in the business with his father for about 13 years. Michael understands the importance of having a new business and restaurant in a new area run by someone that has the experience of running an already established company name.
